It\u2019s why our two companies have formed such a strong partnership over the years, working together to engineer propeller STC modifications that deliver improved performance, convenience, and reliability.<\/p>\n<p>Wipaire\u2019s\u00a0latest FAA-approved STC, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/hartzellprop.com\/press-release-wipaire-hartzell-yukon-propeller-stc\/\">Hartzell four-blade Yukon Propeller for Cessna Caravans<\/a>, made quite the splash when it debuted at EAA\u00a0AirVenture\u00a0Oshkosh!<\/p>\n<p>Keep reading to learn more about the new propeller, available now for order and installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Meet the Yukon: Improved Performance for the Cessna Caravan on Floats or Wheels<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Hartzell worked closely with&nbsp;Wipaire&nbsp;to design and engineer the new&nbsp;110-inch diameter, four-blade, carbon fiber composite Yukon propeller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Available with or without TKS ice protection or electric de-ice boots, the Yukon applies to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u25cf&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;C208 &amp; C208B floated or wheeled<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u25cf&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;PT6A-114A 675 SHP Engine<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u25cf&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;PT6A-140 867 SHP Engine<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new Yukon propeller offers stunning ramp appeal, but it\u2019s the significant performance improvements that are sure to impress floatplane owners and operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Performance Boost<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In flight testing, the Caravan with a Yukon propeller delivered impressive flight performance improvements, which will help enhance safety whether operating on land or water. These improvements are especially exciting for float pilots operating in locations with smaller lakes, such as Alaska and Canada, which would be difficult to access otherwise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reduced Takeoff Distance from Land and Water<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When taking off from short, off-airport runways or smaller bodies of water, backcountry pilots have little margin for error. Off-airport, STOL pilots will be pleased to know the Yukon offers up to a 26% decrease in total takeoff distance from land, and up to a 31% decrease in takeoff from water. Test flights also confirmed there is no change in Caravan stall speeds with the new prop.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Weight Savings<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Propeller weight savings is another important improvement for Caravan owners and operators with the new Yukon prop. At just 137 pounds, the carbon fiber composite Yukon is up to 19 pounds lighter than other props.
